Produced by Jeff Adams as a demo, really.  There’e material out there I’ve been involvrd with which hasn’t been released yet.  I mentioned about the songs on the back-burner before my accident.  I actually picked up th guitar this evening.  Of course, my 3 year-old son Jude wants to hear me play “Hey Jude”, that Beatles tune, right away.  With one amputated finger, one broken finger, and an overall mangled hand, well…I’ve had better nights! It hurt like hell too! I think this is the last of the ‘95 stuff I’m letting go of at present.

 Again, from my ‘95 surreal period — the summer that Jerry Garcia died (RIP) — and I find my harmonica to be slightly Dylan-esque, quite by accident.  The melancholy sound can be attributed to the seahag for which it was written.  I used to have a thing for seahags. Perhaps I found them inspirational, writing-wise.

This is a song I am releasing as a filler, with the knowledge that I could certainly produce a bettter copy now. This was from a demo-tape of the same name in 1995.  I haven’t re-recorded it since because it was for some battle-axe I know longer know. 

Plus, I lost my left index finger in a table-saw accident this past August 6th.  At present, my hand is still something of a mess — but still a mess with which I shall play guitar again upon sufficient healing. No worries. Just stubbed my finger — just a scratch is all, a flesh wound…

I am still going to release material, current and old until I do heal-up though.  I have a couple of new recordings on the back burner (recorded pre-accident) that should be fairly cool when I can get together with Chris McDonough and finish them.  I’m not beat by a long-shot. The current batch of recordings I did what I could with – which wasn’t much considering the quality level I had to work with in 1995.

Still, I hope it pleases, along with the next mini-set of tunes I wrote during that era.

This tune was one of mine & Chris’ signature tunes we always especially liked jamming-out to.  I wrote it back in ‘92 — yes, the 20th century folks — but I’ve been able to vastly improve upon the original Frozen Pop paradigm just by overdubbing an actual bass guitar-sounding noise (which was non-existent in the original live recording even though we had a bass player!) as well as adding some background vocals — which the band also might have done were some of them not ‘fraidy-cats.

This song I wrote back in ‘93, recorded in ‘06, and haven’t published until now.  The beginning descriptor, ”like this”, becomes a recurrent part of the hook-line in my more recent composition Cold Night from ‘03 as well – the two songs being entirely unrelated thematically.  In this song, Like This, the descriptor implies the theme – although both the theme and what is being described are not immediately recognizable or discernaable.

There were so many people we knew who passed on between ‘03 and ‘06 – people very close to us.  This song sort of pays homage to them, our dearly departed, like Auld Lange Syne.  This copy is a distant copy and has mild distortion and sound degradation.  As ever, I’ll replace it with a better copy when I can find it.  So much stuff to look through in deciding which old stuff is even worth posting.  This song is worth the post, even with the diminished quality.

Live recording from some random dive bar in West Chester, PA at the end of March back in 1999.  Billed as Frozen Pop , as Chris and I kept the name throughout many incarnations prior to having deemed it just plain silly, the players were Jeff Adams – For Real, Chris McDonough, Tom Zartler, and some random, barely heard congas player (I forget who had jumped in to fill that particular role on that particular evening).

This is probably the fourth post I’ve made, putting this song forth.  At the time, I thought it was the best song on the demo…even though Chris sort of botched the lead a litte.  Well, thanks to technology, that’s all fixed now; and, as I’ve said all  of the material on the DAT Demo: Frozen Pop Live At The Parlor has been remastered.  It does have somewhat of a tape hiss, as I’ve said, due to circumstances described in previous posts.

I found a version of this song where Carlyn quits playing keys in the middle of the song, where Chris jams, and jumped on a guitar too!  And, all things considered, it wasn’t too bad at that.  It was a lot of fun too.  I’ll post it when I can isolate and edit it.

I wrote this song…well, “Layin’ Back, Cruisin’ down the highway in a late model Ford”.  Chris and I always rendered this one rather country-ish, like Dead Dog (McDonough).

When I wrote this I had my dissolving band (in its origianl incarnation) in mind.  The original title of this tune, with me attempting to be clever, was Band Width.  What it amounted to was band depth; like I said, I’ll be posting a history page soon, talking all about the Frozen Pop saga. Just be forgiving about the tape hiss.  The song rocks.

Three different song-fragments of mine all sewn together by chance (and quite a bit of alcohol, I’m afraid). The song “Tell Me” is another post on this blog, recorded years prior to the conception of the Trilogy.  The ending song-fragment I created ad lib during prior rehearsals.  Crazy times…and as they are still.

I finally located some of the older Frozen Pop material!  It was another box in the basement and another veritable gold mine.  So, we’re going to have something of a Frozen Pop revival coming up here soon, as well as some other brand-spankin’ new releases.  I’m-a-workin’ on it!!!

This recording was a first generation analog tape directly from the digital.  It was crystal clear when I made it.  Tapes being what they are though…well, there is definitely tape hiss on these songs.  I tried to remove it, but ended up with a noticable digital garble accompanying the music, so I thought that the tape hiss would be better than that.

I’m going to post a history page soon, history of my music and sound, that is.

I had the link misconfigured when I posted initially…it’s fine now!  Sorry about that! 

Now it’s even remixed.  I think the one there now is going to be the final draft for a while, the song having been remixed something like 4 times plus the editing process…

I just get so amped to produce whenever I have time.  My studio time is full of welcome interruptions with all the youngins, but it does make it difficult to hear everything I need to for the best possible prodction.

Cold Night is a song I composed in 2003, one of the first composed at that point since a few years prior.  I was in a brand new environment suddenly, with none of my former resources at my command.  I felt a chill in the air I had not felt in years, having lived in Arizona for a stretch. This I imagined to be metaphorical to my feelings of alienation at my foreign environment.  I then imagined love to have been that which helps lift the spirit rather than that which could capture or even destroy it.

As to my persistent fan base – thank you so very much!!!!!!!

And then there are the rest of you, the spam-would-be-advertisers trying to slip in any ol’ comment, regardless to its irrelevency just to plug or exploit a link.
